Bloomberg.  Toshiba Corp. and three other companies will consider developing Colombia’s first geothermal power station.

Isagen SA, Schlumberger Ltd. and West Japan Engineering Consultants Inc. have agreed to join Toshiba at considering a 50-megawatt geothermal project in Caldas, Toshiba said in a statement today.

The plant may start running in 2020 if the companies decide to go ahead with construction after a two-year feasibility study, Toshiba said.

Toshiba has supplied 52 geothermal power generation systems with a combined capacity of 3,400 megawatts worldwide, according to the statement.
